A new program at Rush University Medical Center focuses on the emotional, psychological and spiritual effects of cancer, offering new therapies that complement traditional medical therapies. Only one in 40 11-year-olds meets the national target of an hour of physical exercise a day, say researchers. A University of Bath study found that 95 per cent of boys and 99.6 per cent of girls fell short of this time. Nine hundred of the world’s hepatitis C experts are meeting in Glasgow this week to discuss the latest research into the disease at the 14th International Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses. Among more than 400 studies being discussed, it will be revealed that scientists working on hepatitis C have discovered a powerful new drug, which has been shown to inhibit the virus in laboratory tests. Diabetes UK recently brought together 30 young people with diabetes for a dynamic 3D (Diabetes, Diagnosis, Discussion) training weekend in London.Many young people feel that after they leave the doctor’s office that they have no one to talk to and that no one in their peer group understands what they are going through. 3D Training for Young People was created by Diabetes UK to address this problem.
