A New Mathematical Formula For Cancer Progression

Tumor progression can now be mapped less to mathematical standards and more to individual patients according to a new study by researchers at Harvard and Johns Hopkins Universities. The study, publishing in PLoS Computational Biology on November 9, 2007, provides a new paradigm in calculating tumor development, showing that it appears to be driven by mutations in many genes. Non-Maternal Care Associated With Reduced Levels Of Physical Aggression In Children Of Mothers With Low Education Level

Among children of mothers with low education levels, those who receive regular care from other adults during preschool years may be less likely to have problems with physical aggression, according to a report in the November issue of Archives of General Psychiatry, one of the JAMA/Archives journals. The XP Family Support Group will be holding the 3k “Walk by the Light of the Moon” on November 10 in Ladera Ranch, Calif. to raise funds to help cure Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) disease. Tezosentan Does Not Seem To Improve Outcomes Or Symptoms For People With Acute Heart Failure

It was thought that tezosentan would benefit in the treatment of acute heart failure. However, it has been found that tezosentan does not reduce fatal or non-fatal cardiovascular events, neither does it help with breathlessness, according to an article published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), November 7th issue.
